9/26/2006 New Work in the Windows at Macy's - 34th and Broadway in Manhattan

GERING & LoPEZ GALLERY is pleased to announce an installation of new work by John F. Simon Jr. in Macy's 34th Street windows. The featured work combines software displayed on LCD screens with engraved and inlaid Formica. These large pieces showcase the many threads of Simon's previous work: drawing, laser cutting, and writing software, in boldly colorful and living cabinets of curiosity. This group exhibition, including work by ten other multi-media artists, was curated by Gabrielle Bryers. Simon's works are on 34th Street just west of Broadway.

[You may have noticed that the Sandra Gering Gallery is now the Gering & Lopez Gallery. They are in the process of relocating to a beautiful space on 57th Street.]

A drawing show at Sandra Gering?

That's right - a drawing show!

The show is called 'Nonlinear Landscapes' and opens on
Saturday, April 15 with an opening party from 6-8.

The Sandra Gering Gallery is at 534 West 22nd Street, NYC.

A drawing show has been a goal of mine for a long time but my
'art appliances' have always taken center stage.

As luck would have it, last July I decided to start a series of
large drawings that would not be sketches for software but
finished pieces.

I quickly realized they were the best works on paper I have ever done.

Sandra Gering agreed!

Can you see why I'm excited?

I hope you can come and see the new work.
